In 2023, buyer search behavior started shifting from Google to ChatGPT. By 2025, brands that had ranked on page one for a decade were invisible to AI. TopSlot is my answer to what happens when AI, not Google, is the top of the funnel.

One person. One obsession. Zero investors.

15+ years in digital marketing and SEO. Watched Google's algorithm shift through Penguin, Hummingbird, BERT, MUM, and the SGE rollout. Started building TopSlot in early 2025 when it became obvious that AI search was the next rule change and the tools weren't ready for it.

TopSlot is built solo using AI coding tools — no engineering team, no agency behind it, no investors in the cap table. Every feature ships because I personally needed it to solve a problem.

§ 02How We Got Here

The short version.

  1. 2010

    Started in SEO

    First agency job. Google was the entire search market. On-page optimization, link building, content strategy. The rules felt permanent.

  2. 2015–2022

    Watched the algorithm shift every 18 months

    Penguin, Panda, BERT, MUM, Core updates. Every time Google changed the rules, clients lost traffic. Every time, the tools adapted after the pain had already been felt.

  3. 2023

    ChatGPT started answering queries Google used to own

    “What’s the best CRM for small teams?” — people stopped clicking Google result #1. They asked ChatGPT and took the answer. Buyer discovery was moving to AI.

  4. EARLY 2025

    Tried every AI visibility tool on the market

    All of them asked ChatGPT about my brand by name. That’s not visibility, that’s performance. None of them measured whether AI recommended me organically to buyers who don’t know me yet.

  5. APR 2025

    Started building TopSlot

    Built solo. Used Claude Code as the engineering team. Shipped the zero-brand-name methodology as the foundation. First working version was tracking 4 AI models by the end of the month.

  6. APR 2026

    Public launch

    TopSlot goes live to the Mavens CMO community first, then broader. Founding Member offer opens — Agency plan at $499 for 3 months (normally $747), first 20 spots, closes May 1, 2026. Locked renewal rate after the 3 months. Includes 5 brands, all 4 AI models, Growth Manager, AI Advisor unlimited, and PDF reports.

Measure honestly

If a test includes your brand name in the query, you’re not measuring AI visibility — you’re performing it. Zero-brand-name methodology, every time. No shortcuts to make the numbers look better.
